Right now I'm trying to vanquish cantha/nf with my derv...and i'm using this build:

So ...i'm going with discordway and a couple of henchs...but anyway, i am tanking alone and dying really fast for eles

What can I do about my build or my equips(runes/insignias)?

OBS:

Armor:

Head - Scythe mastery +2 , armor +10(physical damage)
Torso - Energy +3(radiant)
Hands - energy +2, armor +10 (stance)
Legs - health +41 , armor +10(enchant)
Feet - Reduced blind +weakness -20%

the build is ok , i would still advise u to take a attack speed boost aswell ,

equipment : lose the + 10 armor stuff , it only works on that paticular piece , not the entire set , your better off with survivor insignea's

and lol , everybody occasionaly dies from ele's in HM =p
you may need to bring more protective spirit =D

side note : using save youself , focusses all enemy fire on you , cause you have the lowest armor , this often leads to being spiked ^^"

On my derv I usually run a bar with 3 attacks (usually wounding/reapers, mystic, eremites), Heart of Holy Flame for IAS, Asuran Scan, Zealous Renewal/Zealous Sweep for E-manage, AoHM and SY!. As a frontliner, you don't really need conviction..your healers should be healing/proting you. And FGJ has too large of a cooldown to be used for purely adrenal gain from attacking (as opposed to adrenal spikes such as from D-Slash).

I've never used Discordway, so I can't comment on that, but I've heard good things about it.

For my scythe, I use Zealous so I can spam attacks more, 15^50% since if you're under 50% health you'll either be healed soon or die, and +30.

You don't really need +2 for scythe mastery (unless you mean +1 helm and +1 minor rune, which is great). For armor, I'd probably say Survivors is best, especially for HM where there's a lot of armor-ignoring damage.

Other than that, research into the area before you vanq it, so you can bring builds to counter the enemies, etc. And if possible, drop the hench and make a friend

You've got the right idea, but above is a better general build.

Perhaps try a necro/monk or ele/necro buffer with an mm and perhaps an e/mo healer instead of disco.

When with h/h, practice managing prot spirit.

Save yourselves! is a great skill.. but it tends to make you squishiest piece of fodder in the group. Enemy focus turns to you, and if you dont have the skills on your bar to stay alive, your H/H should do it for you.
Discordway is powerful, and can be modified to suit most areas so long as there are corpses. Try altering your discorders builds a bit to keep you alive.

What skills used against you seem to be the most devastating? Is it lots of small damage? Or is it 2 or 3 massive hits?

Get a hero to use prot spirit on you.

I'd recommend replacing either Victorious Sweep or FGJ! with Asuran Scan. Boots your damage further, and allows you to apply both a Condition and Hex so that your heroes don't have any major confusion as to who they need to be spiking.

Discordway works a whole lot better with the player as an AP Caller:

Otherwise, if you want to stick to your scythe, use Sabway since that has a lot more synergy with physicals:

Switch Zealous Sweep with Attacker's Insight and bring Wind Prayer up to 3 +1, Mysticism up to 11 +1, and Earth Prayers to 5 +1. You still have permanent Conviction, but a far better e-manament.
Maybe drop "FgJ!" for Asuran Scan or "By Ural's Hammer!".
